The music industry has been shocked and saddened to learn of the passing of singer/songwriter Richard Lane. In the days since, a GoFundMe has been created to help Richard’s partner Cathy and young daughter Penny, with a livestream event happening TONIGHT via the Mojo's Bar Facebook page.

This fundraiser for Richard Lane's family features members of the The Painkillers - vocalist/guitarist Joe Bludge, drummer/vocalist James Baker and bassist Martyn P. Casey - who'll play several songs in honour of their beloved bandmate. Joining in to perform Richard’s parts on guitar is Luke Dux of The Floors.

There'll also be thoughts from friends including Dave Faulkner (Hoodoo Gurus) & Steve Kilbey (The Church). The night will be hosted by music journo Bob Gordon, also a long-time friend.

Richard was a founding member (with Dom Mariani) of The Stems, one of WA's most iconic rock’n’roll bands. He was instrumental in the kick-off of The Chevelles, as well as The Rosebuds and The On-And-Ons. Richard has mentored hundreds of musicians and taught thousands of youngsters. In recent years he brought his deft rock’n’roll touch to Big Boss Man and The Painkillers.

Tune in from 8.30pm AWST tonight to watch this heartfelt tribute to a WA music legend. All funds raised will go to Richard’s family – Cathy, Penny and Daisy ❤️
