Perth young guns Mosquito Coast have recently released their debut EP 'Television Love' in Australia and New Zealand, and it’s receiving lots of love around the country with new single (also called) ‘Television Love’ added to rotation on triple j, 4ZZZ, Rabbit Radio, 89.7FM, and playlisted on Spotify’s Indie Mixtape, New Music Buzz, Indie Arrivals and New Music Friday.
Filled with breezy pop melodies, sun-bleached guitar and dreamy vocals, the EP is available for sale via www.mosquitocoast.com.au
and digitally at online stores (independent).
“With nods to WA forefathers like Tame Impala and San Cisco, Mosquito Coast have found a niche of their own in the realms of psychedelic-beach-pop. It doesn't so much ask you to perhaps consider this as the soundtrack to your summer, it absolutely commands it.”
Troy Mutton, Pilerats
“Refreshingly calm in a scene full of electronic and indie-rock bangers, there’s little to criticise of this angelic 1960s’ beach vibin’ EP.” Catherine Collins, AAA Backstage
Naomi Robinson and Conor Barton were just 17-years-old when they caught the attention of fans, tastemakers and the music biz after winning triple j’s Unearthed High 2015 and placing #101 in this year’s Hottest 100 with their ethereal single ‘Call My Name’.
Following their big win the duo released two more singles - ‘Commotion’ and ‘Let’s Be Friends’, which were both added to rotation on triple j; were nominated for ‘Most Popular Act’ in the WAMAwards 2016, and were also included in the ‘100 best discoveries of the last decade’ by triple j Unearthed.
‘Television Love’ was recorded at REC Studios Sydney, produced by good friend Carl Fox (Porsches), engineered by Tom Garnett, mixed by Jack Moffitt (The Preatures), and mastered by Andrew Edgson at Studios 301.
Following a run of festival appearances over the NYE period – Southbound Festival 2016 (WA), Lost Paradise (NSW) and NYE on the Hill (VIC) – Naomi, Conor and their two band mates are heading out an 11-date national tour next month, playing capital cities and regional centres across the country - see dates on next page.
